Fortune Minerals Limited is a mining company. It is engaged in the exploration and development of mineral properties in Canada. It is focused on developing the NICO Cobalt-Gold-Bismuth-Copper Project in the Northwest Territories and Alberta that produces a bulk concentrate for shipment to a refinery that it plans to construct in southern Canada. It also maintains the right to repurchase the Arctos anthracite coal deposits in northwest British Columbia. It also has a 100% interest in these 116 hectares of property south of Great Slave Lake with copper, silver, gold, lead and zinc showings. It has a 1% net smelter royalty covering 78 hectares of land positioned in a former silver mining district, located south of the Eldorado mining district at Great Bear Lake.

Interesting post ....but I think there is a line up of companies that want to do this with BMs ....I would  be very happy if Robin was speaking to them ...if one can ship DRC cobalt to Canada for processing there is not a whole lot of reasons that I know of that Canada cannot ship ore to France or where ever for processing ...as dumb as that sounds given we have the ability here to process.

the cost of mining here would be a factor but regardless it's clearly done with other products. 

as for gold and wile we have lots of it, good new and safe sites are a problem ....in Canada there is an element that is very confident that the best place to find more gold is close to a past producer, a couple of which exist in the NWT ...Con mine and Colomac Mine are two that I follow with great interest and I am sure there are others.
