RE:Just a thought themason, food safety regulations can be traced back as far as ancient Rome.....says wikipedia....and food safety regulations, themason, are there 'to protect the health of the people'. So your bs that 'it's not the governments job to protect my health', has been considered bs for at least 2000 years. A nation is only as strong as it's people, and every nation makes what efforts it can to ensure the health and safety of its people. In WW2, the U.K. govt gave, free, bomb shelters to citizens.....to protect the health of its citizens. The U.S. spends multi billions on food safety regs, on testing all prescription drugs before they come on the mkt etc etc.....why ? why? Oh yes, because they are the first line of defense in protecting the health of it's citizens; same for Canada and every other nation.
How about safe drinking water....that's usually a state/provincial matter, and there are strict rules in place....why why ? Oh, to protect the health of the people.....to protect YOUR health......and mine.
When we're talking infectious diseases, easily spread and sometimes fatal, a govt is even more engaged in trying to protect it's citizens.
If this were bubonic plague/cholera type death rates, instead of covid, U.S./Canadian govts would not have the kid gloves on; those refusing vaccination would be isolated from the rest of the population....with the total approval of the great majority of the nation.
