The VIX is just one indicator. The trend lines on the major stock markets are beginning to shift to lower - lows. The Dow Jones dropped below the 100 MA and the S&P 500 is on the verge of touching the 50MA. When was the last time the S&P 500 was below the 50MA?

I know one day is not the full story but today on the US stock markets - 69% were decliners, 8% unchanged and 23% advancing. On the Canadian 43% decliners, 28% unchanged and 29% advanced. The conclusion is that as the decliners build it pulls the majority of your stocks down.
