RE:RE:RE:Question - The Newbie needs your help PleaseShares traded privately do not need to go through one of the exchanges (TSX, Alpha, Neo. etc.). 

If you have an old school physical certificate which has not been deposited into a broker account you can just sign the back and exchange it for cash with someone else (you should also contact the company's transfer agent and let them know who now owns the shares).

If the shares are with a broker you can contact your broker directly and have them transfer the shares to the other person's broker (buypass the public exchanges).

The shares can be sold privatly at any price the two parties agree on.

You will not see the volume from these private sales on any of the exchanges since they don't go through them.  Exchanges exist to create a liquid market for company stock so it is easier to find a buyer or seller, but aren't necessary in order to complete a transaction.
