RE:hi Retiredgeo, l'il help ?

RE:hi Retiredgeo, l'il help ? Most ore veins dip into the earth at an angle.  The footwall is what a miner stands on and the hanging wall is what the lantern dangles from.  Neither term applies to plate tectronics.  They are very old terms from antiquity.

The Keates zone is a network of parallel ore veins dipping at ~45 degrees.  Every intersection in the press release is an ore vein.  Some are richer than others.  The "core dilation zone" is the thickest and richest of them all.  They found a strongly mineralized ore vein above the others (in the hanging wall) which they didn't know existed, thus, the discovery.
