This is one of the primary reasons I stay away from U. S. mining companies. The government policies are just too inconsistent and the environmental restrictions can blow up any project. the biggest example of course is the Pebble discovery. The issue with that one is the proximity to a salmon fishery, but any Alaska project will have some type of issue extending the development time and cost.
