07:28 AM EDT, 09/22/2021 (MT Newswires) -- Copper Mountain Mining (CMMC.TO) said Wednesday that it has installed and started commissioning of the third ball mill at its namesake mine in southern British Columbia.

The installation will increase the plant's milling capacity to 45,000 tons per day from 40,000 tpd, the company said. The move is part of plans to triple the company's annual production rate compared with 2020 levels in the next five years, said Copper Mountain President and CEO Gil Clausen.

"With electrical commissioning kicked off, we plan to introduce slurry to the mill next month with ramp up to full production expected this year," Clausen also said.
