RE:Looking done the road

RE:Looking done the roadMy understanding is there are no claims by the Inuit to Newfoundland. The Inuit have made claims to lands in Labrador. Here is a link to the Newfoundland government's own website with a ton of information if you so desire:

Land Claims - Office of Indigenous Affairs and Reconciliation (gov.nl.ca)

T
here are however, the Mi'kmaq but their land claims are concentrated on or near the costal regions in Newfoundland. Here is a great link if you wish to read more about the land claoms of the Mi'Kmaq peoples.

Mi'kmaq Organizations and Land Claims (heritage.nf.ca)

"The Conne River Band Council filed a land claim on behalf of 1,400 Mi'kmaq in 1980 for land in southern and central Newfoundland. The federal and provincial governments both rejected the claim by 1986, in part because of uncertainties surrounding whether the Mi'kmaq people regularly used the island before European settlement".

Finding a bonanza mine might change the focus of those claiming rights. It always happens.
