RE:Great Video - USA MOVING FORWARD WITH NUCLEAR - 23 Trillion I agree that nuclear could make a substantial contribution at least for base load requirements.  It is nice to see that Granholm actually had something sensible to say!!!

The problems are...

1....it takes a long time to build a nuclear plant

2...the NIMBY crowd will fight any installation near them through court action etc and extend the timeframe for completion to decades

3....despite sensible counterarguments there is still the problem from other NIMBY people of where to store the spent fuel

IMHO despite the great words by Granholm a new nuclear power facility in the US is a very long way in the future (if ever)
