RE:RE:NuttallRed you are exactly right.
Important to know 1. For Eric and his fund dividends are VERY important vs Buybacks WHY?
It is tough to time a "point in time" buyback when he flips so often so this doesn't give HIM value versus a dividend (unless the company is doing both)
He just wants the dividend and
flipping the ratios. Which to be honest is good with ALL Canadian Oil and Gas. Companies that lag in value he will buy....this is NOT a bad thing...it raises everyone by default but not many people appreciate that! People sometimes think his top picks are wrong but really any goog PR for Canadian Oil and Gas is good PR for Baytex. That I 100% believe
As a long-term BTE holder ED is RIGHT! Buybacks first! Take out your undervalued shares! Not to mention BTE has a HIGH short count...take that out first!

As a senior portfolio manager, he must diversify is portfolio,
Capital gains are not enough to reassure his investors, with all happen in the last 5 years in the energy sector.
He said, he's looking for advantageous dividends of up to 10% per year ! It's huge !
Not sure if small and midcap energy stocks are interested at the moment to offer this yield !
Only my O !
