RE:RE:IPA vs AMAZON Astutein, please be careful looking at old information. The Bloomberg Law article is from Sep/2020.
If you check RPX, you'll see that there are 19 active Notices of Appeal involving IPA/Google/Microsoft. 10 were initiated by IPA, 6 by Microsoft and 3 by Google. The appeals have been at the CAFC since Dec-2020. The cases were stayed due to IPA challenging the PTAB decisons based on the Appointments clause in light of the Anthrex decision and other reasons of substance. IPA withdrew that Appointments challenge in mid July and the cases now are moving based on merit.
If you want to follow the cases, the RPX link will give you the case number (https://insight.rpxcorp.com/advanced_search/search_all?grouped=true&header_search_type=All&search_all_path=true&searchq=%22IPA+Technologies+Inc.%22&tab_path=litigations&utf8=%E2%9C%93).
You can then go to Docketbird and find the case under appellant cases. There is a detailed summary of the docket. Some entries can be accessed at no cost. For example, here is the IPA v. Google docket for case 21-01438 (https://www.docketbird.com/court-cases/IPA-Technologies-Inc-v-Google-LLC/cafc-2021-01438)
As you noted in an earlier post, Google and Microsoft are challenging validity at the PTAB, where they have won some and lost some as you can see from the number of appeals. Amazon has elected to take the case to trial in Nov-2021 on validity and infringement. Daubert motions are flying fast and furious by all parties. To complete the picture, this is the docket link for IPA v. Amazon (https://www.docketbird.com/court-cases/Ipa-Technologies-Inc-v-Amazon-com-Inc-et-al/ded-1:2016-cv-01266/page/5)
I hope this helps.
