01/07/2015 (T Pettigrew) - Drennan and Fell (2010) describe the Geordie Lake deposit as a poly-metallic, troctolite/ophitic gabbro intrusion with disseminations, blebs and veins of sulphide mineralization. The sulphides are enriched in Cu, Ni, Co, Pd, Pt, Au, Ag, Ti, Te and consist primarily of chalcopyrite with minor bornite, pyrite, millerite, cobaltite, siegentite, sphalerite, and galena. The most significant mineralization observed on the property includes the Mathias and MacRae showings and occurs along the Lower Contact Zone (formerly called the Eastern Contact Zone) within a gabbro body in a zone composed of 1-8% chalcopyrite, pyrrhotite, bornite, covellite and chalcocite. Eight to ten percent coarsely disseminated ilmenite and titaniferous magnetite also occurs within this zone. This Cu-Pd-Pt-Ag-Ti-rich sulphide zone has been mapped over 1500 m length and averages approximately 15 m in width. The mineralized zone occurs within a potassic-altered alkaline gabbro directly adjacent to a gabbro/quartz syenite contact, within the Coldwell Alkaline Complex. Analytical results received by St. Joe Gold in 1986 from 300 grab and channel samples show that Cu, Pt, Pd, Au, Ag, Fe and Ti all increase very dramatically near the eastern gabbro/syenite contact. Mineral Deposit Inventory Record MDI42D16SW00020: Geordie Lake, Ameranium, Macrae Showing, Joa Showing, Mathias Showing (gov.on.ca)
