Ford and Korea’s SK Innovations....Ford aims to have three new battery plants and an all-new assembly plant for electric trucks up and running in the U.S. by 2025. This will require an investment of $11.4 billion with $7 billion coming from Ford and the remainder from joint-venture partner SK Innovation. Interesting- South Korea sinking 4 billion into this venture. They had separated their battery division back on Aug 4th from their core business. Production of the battery cells, as well as supporting modules, is expected to start by mid-decade. Does SK Innovation (Korea) now own 36.36% of this Ford venture? Does SK Innovation have a say as to where components will come from? https://www.cnbc.com/2021/05/20/ford-announces-joint-venture-to-manufacture-ev-battery-cells-in-us.html
