RE:Pierre Lassonde: A "renaissance" is coming for this asset, Let me through a curve at Lasonde.
Over 10 years ago everyone was saying the shortages in copper mining was going to
cause copper to triple. Every CEO than had a copper mine was preaching this. Copper
never reached $8 to $10 a lb as everyone was saying was a forgone conclusion. Now
we are going to electrify everything within 10 years I do not think so. Lasonde is now in
a position he feels he has to preach something but I somehow think he should preach
something else preferably something without a curve.
I would be prone to thinking superconductors might be a better subject. Remember over
20 years ago everyone thought they were going to change the world and it was a forgone
conclusion. Maybe they might actually make a breakthru with this conductivity thing.
Battery technology is looking hard at nanotechnology with silcon based anodes that look
promising. It pans out may have a subsitute for copper. IKE
