RE:RE:what the rare metal find in the Kyrgyz RepublicI believe that Stans financially 'wrote off' the processing facility as a total loss some years ago. To say it needs significant modernising I would suggest is an understatement. Take a look at Lynas' putting near $1 bill into their processing facility in Malaysia and the then nearly a decade of ironing out processing problems.
Further, I seriously doubt that the plant could ever have processed all REEs, despite any claims. They wolud struggle just to get the CE, LA and Nd Pr sorted, which will take years as this has all to be done to cleint specfications; it is not a case of you just 'process' all the REE together and then send the products out to any and all; each is specific to its cleints needs.
The Russians are focussed via Polymetal on their Tomtor REE resource, plus several smaller projects within borders and I doubt will be looking elswhere for RE feedstock or particularly processing, which for the superpowers is now becoming a strategic concern; hence US interest in setting up within borders
However, it is good to see Stans finally back trading.
