RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:COX in Vegas going wirelessSo you're claiming the MeshD technology is so specialized as a technology it will only work on an Aera router? It's too bad you are the only expert on the planet. Which large tech firm do you work for as a CTO. That knowledge might give us a better leg to stand on to give you the crdibilty you deserve. Which tech school are you a graduate of or are you entirely home schooled - remotely maybe.
Can you provide us with the source that shows the Edgewater mesh technology has no additional use other than an Aera router. Give us a full blown expose' on it's extreme limitations.
leodevoe wrote: Yes it's true, you read the word mesh. Maybe go a little further and see what it is they are referring to. Then consider to use even their version of mesh you need two or more of their boat sized routers to build a Yfi mesh network. As opposed to being able to plug a simple device or two into wall outlets and off they go building the network on their own. Using the cloud to manage it.
So, no, Yfi ain't got not mesh in the sense of the current marketplace. But thanks for once again just blindly reading a PR and posting what you think it means, without even understanding it.

I do think there's some interesting stuff buried in those two pump pieces.
The first piece is funny because after 8 years of owning wifi3 Duane named himself the CTO. Like, what did he do for 8 years? Who did the job? How does he "further focus" on something he owned for almost decade? It's like they issue news like this and don't even think how it looks to the market.
The advisory panel release is equally if not more bizarre. They announce a panel, but don't name anyone to it. Ever. The panel will do "scientific assessment". Cuz, like, wifi is very sciencey. As part of this advisory panel that is purely technology focussed Duane steps down from being the CTO. Huh? How about having the new CTO or equivalent on the panel. That would make sense. Maybe it would also have made sense for this panel to look at the market and assess where it was going. Maybe they would have seen mesh coming. After all it has reduced truck rolls massively, and decimated there business case for wifi3 in the home.
In any event always interesting to take a look back to see what they said and then what they did.
You do tend to ignore their move to "mesh". You have stated more than once that they missed it.
Do you have a favourite that you like to hype or ??
This move to mesh networks was announced in 2017. In your supposed technical expertise position are you implying that although they call it mesh it really is not?
