IMO, there are two entirely different issues going on. One is covid and the attempt to minimize or eliminate the threat. The other is the suspension of civil liberties.
As freedoms are supressed, people appear to be ready to do whatever it takes to be able to go back to the way things were which makes sense. What doesn't make sense is how angry people are about the situation.
The vaccine doesn't prevent anyone from getting or transmitting covid. The vaccine does appeaer to reduce fatalities to those that contact covid who are susceptible to respiratory and other life threatening issues.
The spike proteins used in the current vaccines don't last long. As a result, people are already being encouraged to get covid buffer shots. Pfizer's solution is for everyone in the world to take two pills per day for life.
The best solution to illness since the beginning of makind is for the human body to develop natural immunity to the introduction of foreign bodies. That has been thrown out the window with covid and in its place, we as a society have chosen a pathway of constantly tweeking our natural immune system. It remains to be seen whether constant dosing will weaken our natural immunity over time.
The benchmark for herd immunity was 70%. As of today, 86.6% of people in Ontario over the age of 11 have had the vaccine and 81.3% have had two doses. Until recently, those that had 2 doses were considered fully vaccinated, but that is changing rapidly as we have seen in Israel and now the USA where booster shots are now being encouraged.
When covid struck in early 2020, the immediat and intelligent reaction was to throw a blanket over it like one would to deprive oxygen to a fire. As time passes, we learn more and more about covid and ramifications of various courses of action.
At what point in time will it be deemed that people will be safe from covid? Is it when 100% of people have had two shots plus buffer shots every six months for the rest of their lives, or when 100% of the population has to take two pills per day for the rest of their lives? If that is the case, then it is what it is.
What is incredibly discouraging is the constant moving of the goal posts. When the goal posts continually move, one naturally wonders why that is happening.
We are seeing a rapid move towards socialism in the western world. Is that a good thing or a bad thing? Every individual has to answer that question for themselves as there is no univeral correct or incorrect answer. I certainly wonder if covid is being used as part of an bigger agenda simply because of the constant moving of the goal posts.
For the record, I have no time for conspiracy theory nonsense and I'm pro-vaccine when a vaccine has met the long established protocols established by the FDA for efficacy and safety.
And still no word on how or where it came from even though we all know.....Conspiracy theory or not.....
And to keep it short there is no doubt in my mind that there will be at least one booster shot per year per person until such time as there are oral treatmments available including nasal or patches.
with such a high percentage of Ont vaccinated, we still wear masks and are not fully opened yet.
WTF??????
