While there are certainly more shares waiting to sell at their designated price point, with every sale the longs gain more sway. We are good for a 3-4 year bull run as existing supply is constrained by the lack of previous investment.
It is doubtful US shale will again invest in unfettered growth. Not only investor sentiment but access to capital will prevent it. The fact that shale drillers have expended their outstanding well inventory will dampen enthusiasm.
OPEC and sovereign entities may have issues with domestic spending and defence overspending that complicate access to capital for additional supply and, they are still half a decade behind the supply curve.
All in all, while the big name will garner the institutional interest first, followed by the juniors, micros with such great leverage as JOY will get attention from the more nimble managers and astute private investors.
