AMY vs BETAMAX I wonder when Larry states that he doesn't understand how other companies, such as Li-Cycle, are making huge deals for black mass, if Larry truly understands business.
These are scary comments to make. It makes Larry sound out of touch. When any company feels they have a superior product that is losing out to an inferior product need only look at the Betamax model. A far superior product crushed by VHS.
Battery manufacturers are just looking for a low cost way to meet the regulatory requirements of disposal. They are in the production game, not the recycling game. Which means who ever is the most efficient low cost way of disposing of their spent/scrap batteries gets the deal.
AMY might have a novel and green solution but it requires building infrastructure which existing battery manufactures don't have in their process. AMY is trying to convince these manufacturers to change their processes to potentially save money down the road. While companies such as Li-Cycle say hey we can just take your scrap directly from you and deal with it. It's a hassle free process. It truly sounds like a Betamax situation and VHS will win this battle. The writing is already on the wall. AMY will be a small niche player in this market if they are lucky. Building a commercial plant with no named major customers yet is concerning. Investors need to ask how is it that other recycling companies are getting hundreds of millions of dollars and AMY is struggling to find people to by in. Look how many millions were spent just to get 20 million in financing.
I don't think predators are selling, I just think investors have had enough of the weekly BS and the realization that AMY has been passed on by. Perhaps the financing fee should have been put into sales and marketing instead of having Larry continually stumble through trying to communicate with potential investors.
At what point do investors say enough is enough. For weeks on end, year after year, Larry states how excited he is about AMY's future. How AMY is dealing with so many household names and how likely a JV partner is to happen. And as the weeks and years go by, it's the same spin, great prospects but the predators keep selling.
Well the fact is the number one deterrent of predators is buyers...and Larry, that's what you need to address...why is nobody buying AMY stock?
Building a commercial plant without any major customers on board is a death sentence for AMY. Are there also NDAs for all this scrap? Really? No customers have been identified.
Who is going to us AMY?.....Investors want to know.
