RE:Taylor DartI agree with most of his points. The long term prospects of the combined company is good. AEM isn't a bad company per se but Kirkland is a darling in most investor's eyes because of its high quality, low risk assets, with the company running on no debt. KL is currently horrendously undervalued due to the detour acquisition. The detour acquisition now looks like a fantastic deal but the market hasn't rewarded the shareholders for it yet. KL shareholders might get better valuation being part of AEM short term but AEM shareholders are getting a better "deal" by getting KL at a pretty significant discount, boosting their cash reserves, picking up good quality mines while buying on a discounted price. I think most KL shareholders aren't opposed to the merger, but by the valuation of what their shares are worth.
