RE:Canopy job links - nothing to see here

RE:Canopy job links - nothing to see hereHomestench!  Do you realize that EVERY time you open up your mouth you say something truly mornic??

So Homestench posts job openings at Canopy, like this is something really great.  Well let's look deeper my little Clown.

1) Canopy has over 2,000 Employees.  Homestench posts 11 jobs like it's some massive win.
Well Homestench, in a company of 2000 employees, do you not think there would be normal turnover?  People moving, maternity leaves, life changes.  That there are only 11 postings in NO way shows growth.  Of course there is a natural attrition that happens with all companies. If this were a company that is GROWING, then there would be a LOT more postings.....but there is NOT.

2) But wait my little Clown.  Let's hear from the people who actually worked at Canopy.

a) Go to the Indeed website at the following address:  Indeed Reviews CLICK HERE. The first thing you'll notice is that there are 183 reviews and only a 2.3 star rating (out of a possible 5 star.  Uh oh Homestench.  Could there be other reasons for those job postings?  Like people want to get the Hell out??  Well lets dig even deeper here.

b Let's look at what employees are actually saying.  You are welcome to scroll down in the above Indeed link, and read them there, but in case you don't want to toggle between screens, here are the first reviews.  This isn't just cherry-picking bad reviews.  This is just as they come.  Feel free to to to that Indeed site and read more.  It will certainly parse out the full train-wreck.

No work/life balance

The way the company started and the way the company is going may not be for some people. There is no work/life balance, it's all or nothing. If you're not willing to put CGC first and everything (including your spouse/children) second then CGC is not the place for you. You are excepted to do way more than what your job title entails at any given time of any given day; including holidays, evenings, weekends and days off. The atmosphere is heavy and tense. CGC was once a company that was full of life and growth, now it is a cesspool of stress, self-doubt and the constant feel of oppression. There are many good, kind, loving and supportive people at CGC who will soon be replaced by either constant lay-offs or will leave under their own free will. There was a time I would have recommended CGC to anyone who would listen, now I would only recommend it to anyone desperate for work. They paint a good picture but once you are in, you will see things much differently. It is a shame.

Really liked the people

I really enjoyed working with my managers and co-workers. Happy hour and other perks were a nice bonus but the salary did not correspond with the amount of work I was expected to do.

Pros

Work environment

Cons

Low pay

Not a positive work environment

It started out as a great place to work. They pushed you very hard, but you had a sense of caring and fun. Now there is no job security, no fun and no caring. It does not matter how good of a job you do, it only matters who you are friends with. Lots of layoffs including good employees yet the execs get 4 million in bonuses. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Pros

Close to home

Cons

Lack of caring and no room for advancement

Great coworkers, terrible management

Started as an Adecco and worked until I was officially hired on. Immediately it became clear that the higher ups do not care about the employees, you're just a number. I had some amazing coworkers, but many employees from other sections of the plant were hostile, much like highschool cliques. During big factory meetings with Q and A's employees, especially adeccos, were actively punished for asking questions that painted canopy in a bad light. We were told no more moving up, only outside hires would get higher up positions. These are often reserved for friends of people handing out the jobs and not the people most qualified. There were issues with several people not being paid over time. We worked over time almost every single shift, sometimes pulling near doubles. All in all its an unbelievably toxic environment where you don't matter if you're one of the many employees doing general labour roles. Canopy only cares about its public image and is not commited to making good products or treating their employees equally and fairly, the mental toll it takes on its employees is unbelievable

Pros

Good coworkers, cool Christmas party

Cons

Long hours, pay issues, toxic environment, terrible management, section favouritism

Absolutely horrible place to work.

Doesn’t matter how long you’ve been there or your job role, you aren’t safe. They hire people, then fire them due to them not needing that position anymore, then hire more people to fill those positions they just let others go out of. It’s a revolving door, and you never know when it’s your time, but it will come.

Stay away

Frankly, if you are professional candidate with a strong career background and strong education do you really want to promote that you have worked for canopy organization! Especially a canopy organization that it is as TOXIC as this one! This is far the worst organization one could experience. The staff are extremely rude and careless. Management ran on a complete trail and error process. Predominantly run by women environment who love to belittle men with lower level positions. Fraudulent behavior and nepotism.. Micromanaging was above and beyond believe. Overall a traumatic experience to work here - Creepy workplace - Do yourself a favor, and STAY AWAY

Pros

discount on organization products but difficult process to obtain any purchases

Extremly "highschoolish" managment team

Within 2 years, management switched 3 times, there was no communication between management and staff leaving everyone confused. Many tears we shed here.

Pros

Discount

Cons

The mental toll

Don't Expect to be Paid Properly

Canopy Growths working environment is Toxic, Stressful, and Frustrating. All this company cares about is its bottom line and how big the bonuses will be for upper management. They would rather let a multi-million dollar manufacturing line break because its missing a single screw that costs a few pennies than have to pay for technicians to come perform preventative maintenance. There is a lack of communication and transparency at every level and every department. There is an obvious lack of direction and incentive for employees; bad employees aren't reprimanded, and good employees are never acknowledged. There is no advancement opportunities, unless you count taking on more responsibilities with absolutely no additional compensation. Management will lie to your face and keep you on the hook as long as you will let them. Change is the only constant, everyday the rules change depending on whos working beside you. There is absolutely no job security, if you complain about issues, even if they are valid (HR issues, Health and Safety concerns, bullying/harassment from coworkers) then YOU will be labelled as the problem, and will be "reorganized". The hardest part of the job is dealing with the realization that unless you are in the top 2% of this companies upper management then you mean absolutely nothing to them, you are expendable and worthless.

Pros

Cool Lunch Room

Cons

Everything else

Highly toxic and employees expendable

Worked for Canopy Growth for almost 4 years started off great, then was taken over by Constellation Brand. After takeover cut benefits, forced more work on employees without compensation. Management is atrocious at their jobs and know nothing about the cannabis industry, and has no care for employees, only profit. Final product’s quality fell to gain more profit. An atmosphere of fear is used to keep employees quiet and in line, or risk being “let go”. Exposed employees to dangerous situations and fired people who spoke out. HR was used as a way to protect upper management. All and all stay away from this extremely toxic company.

Pros

Coworkers, interesting field of work

Cons

Upper management, toxic environment, employees treated as expendable.

Thanks for opening your mouth again Homestench. I can always count on you for opening your mouth and saying something moronic.  When you look a little deeper (and Clowns, you should really try this sometime), you now have a different view.  I would bet a lot of these positions are people who have left the company.  Worse, with reviews like these, how are they going to attract any real talent?
