Chiming in since I don't think the true rationale has been considered...

Based on the amount I'm guessing Anglo wanted to avoid dilution at these prices since the $3.4M is pretty close to the ~15-16% ownership. If things were truly that negative I doubt they would have bothered IMO. So, while I don't think they "needed it" necessarily, I'll take the safety net. If the 8 Zone pans out as expected 1.05 certainly looks cheap. GLTAL.
