RE:RE:RE:RE:What Goes OnYou do realize that each OEM signs contract with their suppliers on the quantity of parts and when they want the parts well ahead of time and put deposit down right. Just like bombardier receives deposit when someone orders an airplane from them, so does bombardier give deposit to suppliers to have part for them at date agreed on as per contract. Suppliers gets orders ahead of time so they have plenty of time and if they dont they pay penalties to OEM. There is no supplier constraint you are fear mongering about. As for competition GM had many models and dump the makert, how did it work out for them. Toyota and Honda ate GM's market. G700 and G800 are two aircraft trying to compete with Global 7500. Its costing Gulfstream 2 airplane R&D money and cannibalizing its on product to stay relevant in that segment. Sure it will put pressure but it cost them a heck more then it cost bombardier to make one airplane. Gulfstream is bragging about bringing G4/5/6/7/800 to market but they have to recover their R&D money and only 3 of the six are in production. And they barely breaking even at this stage of program. Bombardier has Global 8000, what if they stretch or shrink it and have range of 8500. Gulfstreams will respond but it will cost them even more.
