Precisely. For one hundred years the world has shrunken by advancement in transportation. Now we are facing a new world in which transportation becomes a limiting factor. The current supply chain will be seen as adding considerable significant risk for i.e., copper mined in Chile and transported to a seaport the coast, shipped on to be refined and consumed in China, and the resulting product shipped to and then sold in North America
This reality might be a little late in arriving but certainly those in the metal producing industry have been taking note. I have long opined that PH will someday be seen as a critical national resource in our conversion to EV and solar perhaps in as little as 5 years. When that happens, copper prices will have doubled.
