Elections Canada has enough protocols standing in the way of vote manipulation that I would not worry. I've worked for them several times. Voting and counting can be witnessed by both partisan and nonpartisan observers. All materials are sealed and signed in such a way that tampering would be obvious.
So let's not start the US-style vote-manipulation conspiracies here unless REAL evidence comes to light. Our preferred candidates losing the election is evidence of something else, that voters simply don't like them.
I read through the Texas legislation and was amused to note that it would tighten their voter identification processes to be in line with ... Canada! Controls that seem normal to us are being called anti-democratic down there.
