RE:RE:RE:Quebec Pension FundTribalism is not constructive. The Caisse made a decision about where they could get stable returns to pay Quebec pensions in the longer term. You can agree or disagree about the wisdom of that decision, but don't try to make it political. The Caisse has about 14 million Suncor shares, or only a little more than the average daily volume. Quebec gets 75% of its oil from Western Canada via Line 9 from Sarnia. It was a Quebecer, De Salaberry, who defended the British colonies, now called Canada in the War of 1812-1815. He defeated American armies in battles in southern Quebec. The defence of Montreal and Quebec City was critical to the survival of these British colonies. Western Canada was largely a wilderness. If not for De Salaberry we would probably be American citizens. De Salaberry is a very interesting historical figure. I encourage any history lovers to look him up. Cheers to all the historians out there.
