Low chance of a competing bid here. I'm sure the deal was hatched between CATL and Zijin long ago. Waldo's team just went along for the ride playing the game, lying and buying time for the Chinese deal makers to shake hands. 

It must have been a healthy payoff to take this out of Waldo's hands. With his outstanding shares and a team that was to receive 2per cent of gross sales going forward.....
