Thankyou for the history book.

The thought of a PE of 2 would suggest the situation may indeed be considered in the SP.

The saving grace of ExxonMobil's presence may be the ace in the hole but the scare is nevertheless present for gcm and I would want to have a price target now.

Happy hunting to all.

When you say "ExxonMobil's presence may be the ace in the hole" you no doubt are expecting that the USA would protect it's interests in Guanya should Venezuela attempt anything militarily. I would hope and expect that to be the case. Such action by Venezuela would make it (more of) a pariah to it's neighbours. It could open the door to Colombia sending in troops to deal with ELN and former FARC rebels, etc. It's hard to imagine that ending well for Venezuela.
International arbitration is the likely path, and it's Guyana that's calling for that. Presumably the Guyanese have good reason to expect a positive outcome via arbitration.
