We defer a lot when we use slang ( argot ). The word ''char'' which is quebec slang ( voiture or automobile in french ) will be ''caisse'' in european slang , une pitoune ( quebec ) is a nana ( french slang ), ostie de calisse will be ''bordel de merde '' etc...

If you listen to french slang it will sound as much garbage as quebec slang

If you listen to the evening news on a quebec channel and do the same on a french channel, you will find that appart from the obvious difference in the accent, the talking heads use the same words on both side of the ocean.
