But, I would not have pulled the trigger if I wasn't happy with the direction and progress the company has made in other areas such as recent acquisitions, etc. I'm happy to wait on this one again for a while.

The rational decision would be to leave for 7 or 8 weeks and come back for the verdict. Then "sell the news" and leave, since he sees no value but Apple.
Most, but not all, see Apple et. al. as a means to an end.
