RE:RE:RE:RE:October 29 - Serious message to C-suite
Three things caused the soaring inflation of the 80's : a sudden spike in oil prices; excessive government spending and increases in wages. Sound familiar?
Apart from the Great Depression, I have never heard of deflation doing much damage. On the other hand, I've seen economies/individuals destroyed by hyper inflation.
As for the stock market, well evaluations (P/E Shiller), have only been this high three times in history: 1929, 1999, 2021......in a month, in two years (nobody knows), but one thing is sure, it will come down and when it does, I hope I won't be sitting on top of that mountain................
