US Winter Gas Prices to Hit Highest Level in 14 Years, EIA Reports

MT NewswiresOctober 15, 2021 05:16 AM ET

05:16 AM EDT, 10/15/2021 (MT Newswires) -- Natural gas spot prices at the Henry Hub between October and March are expected to reach its highest level since the 2007 to 2008 winter season at an average of $5.67 per million British thermal units, the US Energy Information Administration said Thursday.

The EIA attributed the high price environment to below-average storage levels heading into the winter heating season and strong demand for US liquefied natural gas.
