First of all, how do you ship it across Notre Dame Bay, in a dory, a whaler, a sleuth, a barge, especially when the waves are 50 feet high. There are a lot of sunken ships in that bay. Besides the Nugget Pond mill only has a capicity of 500 tons per day. Fosterville has about 1860 tons per day. If the Queensway is going to be bigger than Fosterville, then NFG will need a mill with a capacity of at least 2500 tons per day. Since the Queensway property is long (100 km), they'll need a few mills. I propose a 1500 t/d mill near Keats/Lotto and H Pond, and a 1000 t/d mill towards the south end of Queesway South.
I hope I have my mill numbers right!!
I am just saying they could use that mill in Nugget Pond to get cash flow for a few years while they continue to drill and/or build a larger operation at Queensway. It is just one possibility of many. And just so you know there are tankers that come into Lewisporte so it's plenty deep. Yes there is the occasional ship wreak but not in the shipping lanes. I have personally witnessed large ships in Lewisporte. That is where all the jet fuel for the Gander International Airport arrives in tankers. Sure Voiseys Bay ore was shipped out of Voiseys in the Umiak ore carrier for years. New Found Gold could do the same and take ore to a mill somewhere else if they wanted to. It's done all the time in the world. Especially extremely high grade ore that is present at Queensway. It is an option that is available to them for a few years until a larger operation can be established near the town of Appleton.
