Joe Manchin, a name that will live in infamy, and will be cursed by our grandchildren as preventing our last best hope of averting a global climate catastrophe.  How ironic is it that while decrying immigration the rightwing continues the very fossil fuel policies that compel migration?  It is climate change which will cause wider crop failures which will force larger populations to move in the future.

When will we understand that the hunger and poverty now forcing populations to flee the sub-tropics won’t simply disappear by hiding it behind a wall, and adding more CO2 to the atmosphere will only make the problem worse?  More fires in our forests, more homes destroyed, more frequent and more violent storms, greater floods, longer droughts, and all this, all this just so Joe Manchin can suck it up at the public trough.
