Fully agree. On that RMH Cardium field there was never enough Ethane Bank put in and reservoir was never repressured enough for N2 to be miscible, so we got early N2 breakthrough and side benefit N2 pressuring up shallower reservoirs via poor 1960's cement jobs. Neither good.
CO2 EOR floods have great recovery but all sorts of corrosive side issues. Qatar had project to gather CO2 at NE Ras Laffan and pipe it to and inject into carbonate Dukhan oil field in west Qatar. But many old wells and corrosive issues resulted in alternate plan of increased infill producers and sea water injectors to get higher EUR.
As side note, heard that in Canada can't gain CO2 credits by sequestering CO2 in oilfields?
