RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:weekly Market Recovery Monitor news from str

RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:weekly Market Recovery Monitor news from strLet me rephrase my post from earlier since I left out some details. A couple of my friends flew with Delta to the US on an emergency trip for family. Both are fully vaccinated and both had to prove negative with a covid test before leaving which they got from Shoppers Drug Mart. Flying was the only option since, currently, it is not possible to drive over the border, although that is soon to change.

Upon returning a PCR tested is needed which one of them did not pass. Neither have absolutely no symptoms at all. Delta would not let them board, nor will any other airline. They enquired about renting a car but no company would let them cross the border. Third, they looked at a service that would drive them over. They were told the penalty is $5000 pp. So, Canada will let you in but at a substantial cost. They have covid insurance so they decided to quarantine in a US hotel by the airport for the 14 day period.

And, since you looked me up, don't worry about my resto holdings... I endured SRV all the way down to the $1 range where I made my last purchase at $1.52 and an average not much higher. My divs from SRV alone are over 1k per month so I am doing fine but thank you for the concern.

Friend of mine did not even though he has absolutely no symptoms and now is stuck in a hotel for 14 days. No airline will let him board a flight and he cannot drive back either. The media does not talk about this part too much.

Wow, you need to get your facts straight.

First, Canadians don't need any Covid test to go south, and by the time we need to come back in the spring, we probably won't need one to come back either.

And as for your friend, he can drive back to Canada even with a positive test. The border agents cannot stop a Canadian citizen from coming back by land.

And if I were you, I would worry a bit more about those restaurant stocks you own. They suffered major financial damage over the last year and a half, their business will lag just like the hotel business, and they are having to deal with huge price increases in their food supplies.
