Graphite Demand

_______
Graphite is a mineral with unique chemical, thermal and electrical properties. It is used in a variety of products, such as steel, lubricants, biomedical devices and lithium-ion batteries. More recently, EV sales have grown significantly and are projected to grow at a rapid pace in the future, which bodes well for the demand of lithium-ion batteries.

Graphite is a key component in batteries, as it is the largest component in the anode. As the demand for electric vehicles increases, demand for graphite will increase as well. The growth in demand for graphite from the battery sector alone is anticipated to rise at an average of 30% per year up to 2030.

Our Sites

_______
Ceylon Graphite’s mines are located in Sri Lanka. The Company has a land package that totals 121 km.sq., and this includes a substantial portion of the identified historical graphite production sites in Sri Lanka.

K1 is the first mine the Company developed. This site has received an Industrial Mining License Category A from the Geological Survey and Mines Bureau. This is the highest category license that can be obtained for a mining project in Sri Lanka. It grants exclusive rights to mine, process and trade in graphite that is mined within the area specified in the license. K1 is currently in commercial production.

The M1 development is the Company’s second mine and is currently in the final exploration phase. The site is located in Malsiripura, which is near Kurunegella, Sri Lanka. The M1 development has an Industrial Mining License Category B, which allows for some single borehole blasting and the use of certain machinery and equipment in the mining process. We are currently in the process of applying for an Industrial Mining License Category A for this development.
