My wife recently had to change her RRSP to a RIF. I sat in as an observer, the help they gave her was amazing. She walked in as nervous neophyte and walked out as a seasoned pro !!
Yes TD has good service and more importantly decent ethnics.

A few years ago there was a day when the market was going into a tailspin.  I tried online to sell some stocks and the system was down.  Tried a few times to no avail.  So I called into TD and had to wait for about 20 minutes till I talked to somebody to do the sell.

I said that I didn't want to pay anything more than the online price and he said that was no problem.  I then said that I had lost XX amount of money waiting to talk to him and he asked how much I lost and I told him and they compensated me for the lost that I experienced while on hold....no questions asked!!
