while I am at it , I feel the general public has no idea of the money that is being left on the table when we market heavy crudes. What people fail to undestand is that heavy crude provides a significant volumetric gain when refined. Unfortunately, our Liberal friends are adverse to further heavy crude upgrading in Canada (which would also avoid blending costs and lead to greater pipeline capacity with lower blend stock imported from the USA). Very stupid, even for a Liberal !!
