NEO Battery Materials Ltd V.NBM

Alternate Symbol(s):  NBMFF

NEO Battery Materials Ltd. is a Canadian battery materials technology company. It is focused on developing silicon anode materials for lithium-ion batteries in electric vehicles, electronics, and energy storage systems. With a patent-protected, low-cost manufacturing process, it enables longer-running and ultra-fast charging batteries compared to existing technologies. It is a producer of silicon anode materials for the electric vehicle and energy storage industries. It is developing and optimizing its silicon anode materials, NBMSiDE, through its all-in-one manufacturing process. Its three types of products, NBMSiDE-P100, NBMSiDE-P200, and NBMSiDE-C100 are manufactured through its nanocoating technology and are based on metallurgical-grade silicon with purities of at least 99.95%. It has developed a nanocoating process to manufacture silicon anodes. Its material provides improvements in capacity and efficiency over lithium-ion batteries using graphite in their anode materials.

RE:New usage for electric batterys

RE:New usage for electric batterysThat's a brilliant thought!  If it can work for buses - then it may well work for ships.  And if those batteries can accept a fast and safe charge - then it might not be necessary to off-load all the battery-packs each time (instead, one could work out a maintenance rotation).

Good idea, Sunvalley.  Engine-rooms would really change from what we knew!

It is now being speculated that the next huge demand for electric batterys will be cargo ships and container hauling vessels.. These large boats emit a billion tons of carbon emissions annually and this is reason enough to convert to battery usage. At port these ships would be required to unload their used batterys via a container and reload with a fresh container of fully charged batterys in a automatic process which would be very efficient and cost effective. Just think of a possible role that NBM might be playing in this scenario comes into play! This would truly be mind bending in a financial way for investors that got in early. Speculation for now but using batterys at all in place of fossel fuels was speculation just a few short years ago.
