RE:Business plan Digging deeper into Dincer’s work suggests his patent application is probably about a more energy efficient way of combining N2 and H2 to generate ammonia. The usual way to combine nitrogen and hydrogen is at conditions of 500 degrees Celsius and 200 bar (2900 psi). But this Dincer article details how it can be done at 210 degrees Celsius and atmospheric pressure. No need for huge compressors and less heat required means a more energy efficient process.
This new way of combining N2 and H2 to make ammonia would apply to any type of hydrogen - green, blue or gray. So why isn’t the co. simply licensing the technology to others who make ammonia the old fashion way (steam reforming with natural gas) as well as to others who make green ammonia?
It seems the co. is trying to add value by building its own units that use the technology along with hydrogen generated from electrolysis and seeking customers for same.
