RE:The new smoking

RE:The new smokingAnd how would you have fared in big tobacco stocks since the 90s.....  MO/BTI etc.

answer is very very well!  Balance sheets restored, great dividends reinstated.  Obviously tobacco is less cyclical, but it's also not sexy - and therefore attractive

Oldnagger wrote: Many posters here compare Petroleum production to smoking. Even OAC in her latest witch hunt is accusing major producers as being in the same league as Big Tobacco.
Well neither the USA nor Canada have ever banned Tobacco. They have taxed it more and they have ostracised it but they did not ban it
So here are a few suggestions for oor new environment minister
Require all service stations to hide behind a high rusted iron fence so that they may never entice gullible children to wonder what is happening or even to know that petroleum exists
Force each pump to contain labelling stating that fuel consumption is hazardous to your health
Follow that up with a picture of some ugly person sweating from high temperatures or better still of emaciated Polar Bears.
Ban all advertising stating that petroleum may in any way be a useful product
Get activists to go from home to home ripping up natural gas pipe lines, but before you do you better warn them not to smoke !!
