International operationsBoart just issued their trading update for the 3 months ending September 30. They comment on South America “The Company was also awarded several extensions and new contracts in the Latin American operations, increasingly in the copper space, driving strong growth through the fourth quarter thereby absorbing all the current capacity in that region.”
So South America which was lagging in the previous quarter because of COVID is now back in action. Remember that Chile was producing very good results for Orbit Garand in 2018 - 2019 and they did negotiate another long term contract pre Covid. Orbit also bought their head office building just before Covid. You do not buy a building if you think business is bad.
So we should see international operations picking up steam this quarter. West Africa might show the impact of the Guinean coup as Orbit had a major contract ramping up over there. However, situation appears back to normal, African style, as the colonel is now president.
So lets see what happens but set up looks quite good.
