Sixth Wave Innovations Inc. is a Canada-based nanotechnology company with patented technologies. The Company is focused on the extraction and detection of target substances at the molecular level using specialized molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs). The Company’s product brands include AMIPs, IXOS and Affinity. The IXOS is a line of extraction polymers formulated for deployment in the gold mining industry. The Affinity system is using its MIPs, which are designed to capture and extract cannabinoids from filtered crude extracts without the use of traditional winterization and distillation. The Company’s patent portfolio covers extensions of the designs for extraction and purification of other critical metals including nickel, cobalt, rare earth elements, and platinum group metals. It also designs, develops and commercializes MIP solutions across a spectrum of industries.

RE:AMIPS - News???

RE:AMIPS - News???The submission of a patent implies a working prototype with functionality/mechanism. I tried googling the patent according to its name and number and couldn't find it. Perhaps someone else knows the means?

If we could find the patent then it would give us a better working snapshot of where the company is with its tests.

Personally I think that since they will still need to do real world testing, in order to determine how many breaths it will take from an average sized person in all conditions (eg extreme cold, warmth, etc) to eliminate the possibility of a false negative, then submit it to authorities for approval, that we probably won't see actual physical tests available to healthcare providers and the general public until at *least* the beginning of flu season next year, like September.

This is why I originally had very high hopes for AMIPs potential on the market, which have since been tempered, because I am assuming a worst-case scenario in which competitor tests from big companies have already sealed the deal with both government and private entities around the world.

Once the money is spent on competitors solutions and they have purchase agreements with them, it doesn't matter if SIXW's test is slightly better or faster or easier to use somehow. They're going to stick with what they've already done.

It's not that they won't have any market at all. They're calling it the "Swiss army knife" of tests and it's definitely got lots of niche use, it just won't be that magic bullet everyone could've used over the last two years.
