As to fraking...

As to fraking...

... some of the posts here about Recaf doing fraking are just ...nuts! And some of these radical environmentalists like NO Fraking Namibia are even nuttier.

First of fraking is more an art than a science. Outside of certain areas with specific geological formations it has not worked. Poland spent a nice sum trying it out and it was a dismal failure. The Chinese tried it with some minimal results. Ok they willngo at it again with significantly more resources in a new area but the results are not expected to be much better.

Contrary to the popular misconception that you just pump some water into the ground and oil flows out it is much more  involved and requires some specific components like sand mixed in a certain way and this can be costly. Even the big majors have not been able to widely duplicate the success of some of  the smaller "wild cat" operators.

And the big one is that it is mostly is used only on existing fields that already have been drilled extensively to milk more out.

So like the alledged "issue" of the class action lawsuits it is just "noise" and irrelevant.
