RE:Trudeau's comments, and share buybacks ...Smitty I disagree with you on both carbon capture and buybacks. Carbon capture isn't to say go ahead keep polluting but used in conjunction to reduce all the emissions. The cap and trade was to reward those who had the know how and are more environmentally responsible to sell their credits to those who still have to get there cutting the emission and allowing others to continue to operate. you can't totally cut off carbon emissions without the proper tech to replace centuries old one just like that. I am not even a huge ardent supporter of the oil patch it was quite the opposite actually. But having said that the oil and gas companies do an amazing job in trying to keep all safety measures in place. Carbon capture as far as I am concerned is an absolute must.
Now on your comment about share buy backs if the company shares are trading low that devalues their worth so I don't understand how you can say that this is not helpful to the company as well. If the shares drop in value it makes it more costly to engage in going about business on lower value dollar raises. Companies that are public operate on public monies and the higher the share value the better actually. Axe's tech would not come to fruition without being publicly listed and having public backing but a company's share value is in truth the backbone to operate from.
That being said--i fully agree Go AXE!
