RE:RE:This is interesting… Cabbie might be right Cabbie- Difference of opinion and views is great as long as it based upon on factual and reasonable views. In this regard I would like to comment as follows re divesture of Wilan and current headwinds.
Quarterhill ITS INC is a separate corporate entity Incorported Aug 5 2021 C# 13238032.
All of ITS segments are probably in the process of being transferred to Quarterhill ITS INC.
Namely ETC, IRD tuck ins to IRD - (Senors etc). Each of of ETC & IRD or further acquisitions may well be subsidiaries of QRTH ITS INC.
Saying asigning the patent assertion to a business subsidiary is incorrect. Wilan is NOT a subsidiary of QTRH ITS INC only IRD ETC etc.are.
I concur with totally that currently Wilan is head wind but that can change overnight with successful large Liicensing contracts like Intel where we did not need to go court to obtain. Licensing as we both know is last resort. Both you and I have no knowledge of licensing contracts being negotiated.especially in semiconductors.
The Apple decision in US, I like you hope for .85 original but if we get revised 109 plus post ip 7 amounts this could total 200 million. We can also hope for successful decision in Germany on semiconductors case within next 6 months. With one or both of these headwinds would disappear . Our ITS could all be paid by two.
Furthermore,Without Samsung, Intel ( hopefully Motorola) from Wilan there would be no ITS.
My own opinion for all its worth is that it is far to early for consenus to be made on divesture of wilan based upon market perception of Wilan. Successful results will turn around views especially when funds deposited into Wilan. Wilan may be bank for our ITS?
Finally I think to much emphasis is being put poster for Securities Lawyer as it relates to divesture. Securities Lawyers perform various legal issues, like SEC rules, possible NASDAQ listings and countless legal issues re securities.
I do not believe Wilan is pursuing divesture of Wilan or has any potential suitor in process.(IMO).
To be shareholder of QTRH - Wilan goes with territory and results will destroy headwinds.
QTRH via Wilan has spent the lst 5 years developing the largest Semiconductor portfolio in world and not about to abandom when world of technology is digital and semi related.
One advance decision re Siri should not take away from current advancement in technology.
