Interesting
Interestingthat the fixed shares have dropped below the floating shares. I sense that we are walking in the valley of the shadow of death. Acreage management needs to respond to shareholders concerns and e-mails. This management is turning the p and l sheet around and there are catalysts coming that can change up revenues to positive earnings without the deal between Canopy and Acreage being executed.
I think that all the serious pot companies are hitching their wagon to a "triggering event" that will decriminalize pot posession at the Federal level, allow banks to do banking business for potpreneurs and also clarify positively for Investment co.s and funds to invest in this new vice.
The brave US MSOs are working around the laws, rules and regulations and building successful companies while LPs and other non-US potpreneurs are not that trusting in State law protection being extended to them, so anything they are doing to be a part of the US cannabinoid game is very strategic and probably essential that it goes through "legal" before they make their move.
I know Canopy is doing branding agreements with Acreage such that Acreage will manufacture and sell Canopy branded products, so maintain not touching the active ingredients.
Canopy is hanging their hopes on cannabinoid infused beverages for cannibalizing other forms of consumption of marijuana and hemp. STZ, major shareholder of Canopy are proactively influencing beverages with cannabinoids because they see the writing on the wall in regards to market-share losses as consumers switch from calorie and sugar laden beers and coolers in favour of less caloric infused beverages without alcohol.
Diabetes is touching the lives of a high percentage of Americans who still want to have the social convention of relaxing with a drink or two and I'm sure there is a lot of lobbying going on to pave the way for a level playing field for cannabinoid infused and beverage alcohol.
Successful companies don't wait for a trainwreck but instead, they see the future and move towards it.
Just need law and policy makers to catch-up to what consumers/voters want.
