The Control Trust maintains "control" by having a Chairmanrepresent them and having that Chairman sit as Chairman of the Board of Rogers. I think that's what Ted wished and have the Trust do.
So, removing Edward, who's Chairman of the Trust, from/as Chairman of the board of Rogers would be going against the TRUST and against the Wishes of TED, IMHO.
In the END, the Control Trust has control.
If indeed 97% of shareholders have given Edward directive by means of shareholder resolution, an actual vote would be moot but probabaly neccessary to make those that don't understand that the Control Trust has CONTROL!!!!!!
If I was the Control Trust, it would only make me more upset for continued ignoring the will of 97% and making the Control Trust go through all the paper work of an actual vote. It was bad enough that the board removed Edward without seeking at minimum guidance from the Control Trust (shareholders vote) but to continue on defying the Control Trust, just blows my mind.
So, as I see what's going to happen, a Shareholder vote probably will be required...... But I'm guessing the Control Trust is going to make a few more changes.
So, the company and mother technically will probably "win"..... but they are going to regret what they done.
All just my opinion/view/thinking/guessing
