Pembina Pipeline Corp is a Canada-based energy transportation and midstream service provider. The Company owns pipelines that transport hydrocarbon liquids and natural gas products produced primarily in Western Canada. It also owns gas gathering and processing facilities and an oil and natural gas liquids infrastructure and logistics business. It operates through three segments: Pipelines, Facilities and Marketing & New Ventures. The Pipelines segment provides customers with pipeline transportation, terminalling, and storage in key market hubs in Canada and the United States for crude oil, condensate, natural gas liquids and natural gas. The Facilities segment includes infrastructure that provides Pembina's customers with natural gas, condensate and natural gas liquid (NGL) services. The Marketing & New Ventures segment undertakes value-added commodity marketing activities including buying and selling products, commodity arbitrage, and optimizing storage opportunities.

What this article fails to acknowledge is that the current growth of renewable energy in the world isn't even currently keeping up with energy demand growth. 

And as we now see with Europe and Asia, many renewables are subject to weather... You cannot run a power grid based on something as variable as that. 

Any reasonable future predictions envision oil demand, natural gas, and nuclear all increasing from now through 2040. The only one forecasted to decline is coal.

Yes we may see a demand reduction scenario after that but for now those assets are far from being 'stranded'. 

The only thing that will truly revolutionize the renewable energy world in the next 20 years will be a break-through in fusion technology.
